Running on social media throughout December, the public will be asked to nominate charities whose work they admire to become prize winners in twelve separate giveaways. These could be local shelters, fundraising groups, or any organisations who work tirelessly to improve animal welfare.
The winning charities will receive Barking Heads, Meowing Heads food, increasing in value throughout the campaign. On the final giveaway, a 12kg bag of 'Turkey Delight' will be awarded to an organisation who Barking Heads believe have been truly outstanding in their care for animals.
As a thank you for nominating and supporting the campaign, those whose selected charities are chosen will also receive a 2kg bag of food.
The 12 Days of Christmas campaign begins on the 1st December, with the giveaways taking place between then and the 24th December.
The pet food brand hopes pet owners will welcome this alternative style of social media competition, where they will be entering on behalf of a deserving organisation.
Paul Hunter, co-founder of Barking Heads, has said, "Traditionally giveaways on social media are for customers to win products, but this Christmas, we've decided to give something back to the charities who care for animals instead - many of whom will be working harder than ever during the Christmas period.
