KPMG Announces New Senior Partner For Watford

KPMG has appointed a new senior partner for its practice in Watford.

Ben McDonald, 42, has been with KPMG for 11 years and is currently Head of KPMG Enterprise for the UK and the London Region, roles in which he will continue. KPMG Enterprise works with privately-owned businesses of all shapes and sizes, providing the full breadth of KPMG services to this part of the market.

Ben will take over from Karl Edge in January, who has been in the role for two years and is moving to the take on the reins as Chairman for KPMG's practice in the Midlands.

Commenting on his appointment Ben said:
"I'm delighted to be given the opportunity to lead one of Hertfordshire's most established professional services firms. This region has a tremendous track record of attracting great businesses and giving them an environment in which to grow and flourish.

"There are some very exciting companies based here, and a dynamic public sector community, where I believe our team has a real opportunity to make a difference."

The KPMG office in Watford has around 100 members of staff working across audit, tax and advisory services into a range of businesses across Hertfordshire, North London and the surrounding areas and is also home to a number of teams supporting the infrastructure of the 15,000-strong UK firm.

Ben added:
"Karl has built a great senior team and has done a fabulous job growing our market share, introducing new services and winning lots of new clients locally during his time here. He will do a terrific job in the Midlands. Karl put a number of investments in place that put us in an ideal position to help local businesses, as our clients look to navigate the uncertain road ahead as the UK leaves the EU. I envisage demand for our advisory services to increase in particular as businesses address key issues such as supply chain management, retaining talent and how to keep to their growth agenda in a difficult economic climate."

Ben concluded:
"Our KPMG practice has always played a key role in the Watford and Hertfordshire market and will continue to bring value to our diverse client base. I am very much looking forward to building on Karl's success here."

Ben lives in Redbourn, Hertfordshire, with his wife and three boys. He is also a Director of Funding London, which provides investment for fast-growing entrepreneurial businesses in London and the surrounding areas.
