Local family business in running for national housing award

Hertford based, MCP Property Services Ltd, have been shortlisted for the national 24Housing Awards for Repair and Maintenance Provider of the Year Award.

The award recognises the achievements of firms that have demonstrated commitment and value in caring for properties in the social housing sector, which is vital in ensuring the safety of tenanted properties.

MCP, a family run business, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and in June they won the Inspired Herts Family Business of the Year Award 2018, which recognised MCP as the best local, independent and family run business in Hertfordshire, and one that positively supports the local community.

As well as looking after properties on behalf of local authorities, housing associations and registered landlords, MCP supports a wide range of charities and community projects including Herts Young Homeless, Teens United and numerous sports clubs.

MCP employ over 100 people and actively support young people looking for careers in construction and property maintenance by going into local schools and colleges to educate them. Their apprenticeship scheme has given opportunities to many people from all backgrounds, allowing them to become fully qualified in all trades.

The 24Housing Awards ceremony will take place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on 18th October 2018 where hopefully MCP will be given the recognition that they have earned.
