The results from the local elections here in Hertsmere were announced on Friday afternoon. The results were declared by our Returning Officer, Chief Executive Donald Graham, at the count in Allum Hall, Borehamwood.

Parliamentary candidates for Watford went head to head at a small business themed election hustings . Richard Harrington who secured victory last time was up against the Lib. Dem. Mayor Dorothy Thornhill, who is standing as parliamentary candidate this time, Labour's Matt Turmaine, UKIP's Nick Lincoln and Green Party hopeful Aiden Cottrell-Boyce. The evening was organised by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) a not-for profit, non-political organisation that is there to support the interests of small businesses.

Jonathan Trower was declared the new High Sheriff of Hertfordshire at a ceremony in St. James' Church, Stanstead Abbotts on 28th March. The ceremony involved Mr Trower swearing an oath in front of Mr Justice Stuart-Smith, a High Court Judge.
