Brookmans in Brookmans Park has teamed up with local charity the Willow Foundation to host a glamorous fashion fundraiser and is calling on anyone who loves designer labels and fabulous frocks to get in touch to make the event as big as possible.

Next Spring, Willow and the pub will open the Willow Wardrobe, an exclusive pop-up boutique bursting with beautiful pre-loved frocks, evening wear and separates from all the big names, where for a limited time you’ll be able to bag a fabulous outfit and raise money for a great local cause at the same time.  Afterwards, there’ll be a glittering catwalk show and fashion fundraiser where the champagne will be flowing, again in the glamorous setting of Brookmans, as pub landlord Lloyd Willis explains.

“We’ve teamed up with the Willow Foundation who were founded right here on our doorstep to transform part of the pub into a wonderful pop-up boutique selling some amazing designer labels in aid of their work providing special days to seriously ill 16 to 40 year olds.  We’ll have armfuls of labels – everything from YSL and Channel to Gucci and Juicy Couture – and simply need some willing volunteers to help us get the boutique together and show these pre-loved outfits, dresses and evening wear at their best.”

To kick things off, and talk about plans for the pop-up boutique and fashion show, Brookmans will be throwing open its doors on the evening of Thursday 27th September at 7pm, for a drop-in session over drinks and canapés.

“We’re going all out to raise as much money as possible for Willow so would like anyone who fancies surrounding themselves with fab designer labels and getting their hands on some glam gear to join us for a few glasses of bubbly to find out what they can do to help.  Anyone with a few hours to spare who would be happy to collect these wonderful clothes for us, to lay on the fashion show with us and even help out in the boutique styling and selling the clothes is most welcome – the more the merrier. It’s going to be brilliant fun and all in a great cause, and we’d love anyone who’s passionate about fashion to get involved.”

The Willow Wardrobe kick-off event takes place at Brookmans on Thursday 27th September from 7pmand all are welcome.  To find out more and to let the pub know if you can make it, please contact Lloyd Willis at Brookmans by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. Following the overwhelming response from their community sports awards, Riverside Shopping Centre in Hemel Hempstead is offering community clubs and charities in the local area the opportunity to take free promotional space on their mall.

From animal shelters to Morris dancers and everything in between, Riverside is encouraging everyone to get in touch. Activity at the shopping centre should be as visual as possible and encourage shopper interaction. This could be anything from demonstrations and kids’ activities to raffles or educational talks.

David Robinson, Centre Manager of Riverside Shopping Centre, commented: “I know that we have a lot of great groups and charities in Hemel Hempstead and I hope that they want to come forward to spread the word about themselves. I am really looking forward to finding out about some of the groups that I didn’t even know existed and seeing lots of various demonstrations and mini events.”

No matter how big or small, if local groups want to promote themselves then all they need to do is register their interest with Jenny Fletcher on 01403 783400 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
